Passing the Time

We've been pretty busy with the business again.  Orders have been steady.  I've been doing a lot of scrapbooking.  We are both very anxious.  The rumor of an increase in paper ready babies is now official.  We got the email from our agency.  The cost of domestic adoptions in China are going up, making it harder for those to adopt there.  And the cost for us, International adoptions, went up for the donations to the orphanages.  And since there's a serious backlog of International adoptive families waiting, there will now be more babies paper ready from the orphanages for International adoptions.  I really try not to think about it too much...you will never know the real answers anyway.

Now as far as a rumor...it is rumored that this month's batch could go up to the 9th or the 14th of March 2006!!!!!  The 14th would be us...we'd be in that group.  Won't hear anything until probably the beginning of April.  Either way, we are very very close!!!

Some fun scrapping things I've done...I can tell I'm anxious...I've never scrapped this much...

This is another fun banner I did for our mantle.  It says PLAY

Lisa, Denise's friend took this picture of us in New Orleans...I love it!
These are all pics from the shower...

This was for the Scrapping to the Music challenge blog site.  The latest song being We Will Rock You from Queen!  Used a pic of one of my favorite rock stations.
Another pic from shower.  I used the Hello Kitties that were on the cake.

Backtracking a week ago from when Denise and Lisa were still in town.  Had a good lunch and then walked around the French Quarter just a little...
Lisa takes tons of pictures and has inspired me...
Lisa preparing to jump over Denise...

Found this guy was attracting a lot of attention...

And...it's just wonderful to feel the Spring weather.  The cats are loving it.  Dennis is getting over being sick.  I'm trying to keep from getting sick.
We had figured out that March is probably both Daisy and Archie's birthday month...a year apart.  So I didn't make a fuss over Daisy getting into the rest of the chicken.  Actually I had already gotten all that I wanted off of it.  She was smacking that mouth and tongue like crazy.

The girl has still got it.  She is an excellent little hunter...
I thought this was cute seeing Archie's ears just at the back of Daisy's butt in the picture.  He really likes to mess with her...

Another batch of Dad's Amaryllis growing...
Archie, just loving the weather...

being very territorial.  There's another cat coming around again.  Last night they got into it.  Good thing our cats don't really go outside.  But he will spray around the screen area when he gets like this...
Following me all over the house...we will all have quite an adjustment when Emma gets here.
Daisy loves to lay in the kitchen window, but needs a little help nowadays.  So we leave the stool out for her...
The really big batch of Dad's Amaryllis growing and blooming...he'd be proud that I haven't killed them!

Three Years Since We've Been Logged in with China

Denise and her friend, Lisa, had planned on coming into town for a visit on her birthday.  They stayed just over the weekend...
We went to my sister, Lisa's, house to celebrate our sister Holly's birthday a day early...Holly and Lisa both surprised Denise with a little something for her since it was officially the 14th and Denise's birthday.
Have been doing these crackers ever since Christmas for birthdays.  Got them to where they WILL pop because of using tissue paper to wrap them!  Lots of fun!!!

When we walked into Lisa's house...Holly and Lisa both screamed SURPRISE and were taking pictures of me.  I thought, well, they are just acting crazy as usual...then Lisa said, "you knew."  Well...I did not know, was completely surprised and they totally caught me off guard...they were throwing us a baby shower...just them.  They went all out.  Dennis and I could not believe what all they did for us...

The cake says Welcome Emma
Gotta love all of the Hello Kitty...
And these two are the master mind's behind all of this...

They had given us so much and done so much already and then they brought out this huge gift.  It's a convertible car seat.  We were so shocked.
We are still in shock and cannot believe what all they did for us...Dennis and I both keep talking about it.  We're both feeling pretty anxious.  I've never seen Dennis so overwhelmed before, but so happy and excited...
Lisa is going to be such a good aunt...she is soooo excited.  Holly and everyone...but it's just cute to see the excitement as the time "for real" approaches...
The Hello Kitty crown was for me...LOL!

My niece was getting rid of her stuffed animals, and Holly got this Hello Kitty from her.  It is one of the first Hello Kitties from when she first came out over 30 years ago...she's the original from D.H. Holmes and in great shape.
More family shots...

The weekend went by so fast.  Denise and her friend, Lisa, left yesterday, so we'll start putting the things we got for Emma in her room and soon put the car seat in my car.  This was just something that Holly and Lisa wanted to do for us before our trip.  What is so cool about the day they did this is that that day 3/14/2009 is exactly 3 years since we've been logged in with China.

...BUT...WE plan on having a big welcome party/shower when we return with Emma at our house.  Probably a couple of weeks after we return.

It's rumored that China may possibly cover more days these next two months.  So still waiting to find out.  I called a pediatrician referred to us by our doctor and she has seen internationally adopted children, so relieved to hear that.  And waiting to hear some news from our agency...asked them to give us any updates...so for now, we still wait...
