Baby Chattering, taking iPhone Pictures, Who Knows What's Next!

Oh man...about two weeks ago, Emma went four straight days with no nap...just jibbered jabbered in her crib the entire time...got me thinking okay...maybe she is starting to not need naps anymore just "quiet" times, which really aren't all that quiet really.  Then after the four days, it has been on and off again with the chattering during nap.

Happened to get lucky and get her chattering in front of the mirrow with her Dora hat on...it's in the 70's.  And then we got a little of her chattering during nap time...and then yeah...she dozed off on me in the car, and I was like I don't think so...

Chattering and No Nap from Patricia Roebuck on Vimeo.

Yes, if you caught it, she was doing sign language for 'more.'  She's had two of her speech therapy sessions, and had no problems with learning to sign more and open...although she does say more.  And really, by the time it came around for the speech therapy, she really doesn't need it.  She can say over 20 words, is constantly repeating sounds and words, and saying almost a new word a day.  Just the other day while watching Kai-Lan, they were saying the Chinese word for Pull, "La,"  Emma was saying it right along with them.

She had my iPhone the other day getting out of the car, which she is very good at using now...when I realized she was taking pictures as I was carrying her in from the car...

She loves to take pictures...and yes, I can wear these Dansko's now, and not having to wear the brace as much anymore...still have to be careful...no going around barefoot or wearing bad shoes...

Emma is 21 months old now!  Cannot believe.  And have actually been very sad about the fact that out of the 21 months, we've only been together 8.  That's another post...

Little rugrat is certainly flourishing...

Just want to add that my heart goes out to all of the families in the process of adopting through Russia.  I hope you hear something concrete very soon.  I know all to well that the unknown is what makes the situation even worse while in the process...  Don't know if it will help, but China Adopt Talk a/k/a the Rumor Queen has been posting.  She gets her information from agencies...so maybe this can be another resource...although the best is your agency...

Coffee and Scrap Therapy

I've been needing my coffee fix a lot more often ;) so I finally got an automatic coffee maker.  My coffee press just can't keep up with me anymore...

And got this finished...well awhile ago now, but had started it at Scrapfest.  Our first visit with Emma to the zoo...in October!

She loves to look through this...

And this was the little book I had made for her while at Scrapfest...I had taken a bunch of pictures of things at her eye level...she loves this...she'll pick it up, we'll point to a picture and ask her where it is...it's like a little scavenger hunt for her.

The Hambly transparencies really make this so fun and extremely fast to put together...all the color and texture is there, just add a little paper and rubons and that's it...

...just a few of the pages...

And some of the more recent scrapbooking fix...a picture of her just two months home with us in October, the same time we went to the zoo.
More pictures from that same time in October...she was already so comfortable and well adjusted even then...
And one of her first trim...about the same time...

And one day we'll get this new product up on our business site (Koozies for coffee cup, soda can,  and water bottle)...we're hoping to hire someone to come to the house to play with her so we get things done...been difficult to say the least...
I'm hoping to also start back with some yoga classes...to do something for myself.  Dennis will still run, and workout.  So I think now that we're eight months being home with Emma, it just might be possible...here's hoping!

The Latest Craze!

Everyone is outside now that the weather is nice, including all of us!
Little rugrat having some Easter candy while we're out by the pool.  She loves the camera now!

Hmmm...or does she?  Or is she saying, you better not take my candy away!

Yup, that Easter Bunny makes some doggone good candy...

It makes me want to dance...

What was that?  More candy?!

It's been hard to get little rugrat to come back inside with the weather so nice.  But trying to only take her out early morning, late afternoon before and after the really hot times...

She loves her new car!  I think the key and the door are the two most fascinating things to her!

And she's got her very own sandbox.  She uses both hands, but mainly right...shoveling lefty here...

Told you...she works the camera now...bad pic, but cute!

Hi, Dadda!

Finding some good fruit now, especially watermelon, her favorite...but did the ice cream cone again...this time she didn't want to share!

And besides loving outside activities, she loves to swing.  And if there is no swing, WE'RE THE SWING!  She's killing us, but we're having fun!

We celebrated Easter with her Aunts and Uncle...

Another latest craze...socks on her hands...girl loves it!

Hollywood will be calling me any day now...

Lots of tickles and hugs...

And since she had already done one Easter Egg Hunt...she knew what was inside...she didn't want to get anymore eggs...just open them!

Ahhhh...that's the good stuff right there...

Heavenly...

Love those kisses...

She loved her Easter basket full of fun goodies...

Her little prayer book was her favorite...

Didn't think she would like the Easter Bunny...but she went through the line three times to see him!  ;)

Stuck on the bridge for an hour...wore her out...ahhh...her first of many more bridge delays...

The weekend before Easter, we met with other Chinese adoptive families.  We couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was to be with other families like ours.  Gorgeous day and lots of fun...

I really had to hold back from crying when I saw Merrin again for the first time.  Merrin and Emma were in the same room in cribs near each other...so they spent the first year of their lives together...

Emma will share, but I don't know if she would share her food or not...Merrin was very good at sharing...Emma didn't mind!

Another latest craze...following her shadow...she could play for hours with her shadow...

Loves to smell those flowers...

This was the first Easter Egg Hunt...and she was doing so good finding them and putting them in her basket...

Then she found out what was inside the eggs...both she and Merrin were in chocolate heaven...

Then they found one of the older girl's scooter thingy???  and both had to try it!

One of the older girls really took to Emma and Emma really liked her too...so sweet!

Hoping to get the temp in the pool hot enough with a solar cover so we can start swimming sooner and longer this year...gotta have fun for our outside girl while the weather is nice...
