Studio Calico CHAllenges

Almost finished the next week in Project Life...but was having too much fun over at Studio Calico doing some CHAllenges (CHA - Craft and Hobby Association was this weekend - so for those that don't get to go to CHA shows, some of the design team members are hosting some fun challenges.
So here's what I've come up with for the challenges:

(challenge - cover washi tape on cardstock and die cut it)
(combined three challenges - layer, use a doily, use a journaling card/journaling spot (I used an october afternoon journaling card as a frame around photo)
(combined two challenges - use a doily and use a journaling card/journaling spot)
This one was the hardest for me (challenge - make a card using 4 punches).  Cards are not my comfort zone and I don't have many punches.
This one is my favorite (combined three challenges - circular photo, buttons, polka dots; stitching; use a journaling card/spot).  I kind of wrote a short novel about the story behind this layout if you'd like to see it here.
I really had so much fun with all of these.  I don't think I've had this much fun scrapping in awhile.  This one combined a few challenges:  making your own mask, use something electronic (a text, blog post, email), journaling cards/spots, and using two stamps but making them your focal point.

I scanned a Starbucks cup holder, enlarged and printed, and then hand cut it out.  Masked and misted it with white Studio Calico mist.  All the stamps are Studio Calico, mostly from kits.  For the potty people (those are a stamp too), the background piece of pattern paper is stamped the linen background stamp, the heart, and the potty people are from Who's Who kit.  The chevron's are from "My Happy" Studio Calico stamp set.  I just cut them apart after stamping.  And I used Versamark to stamp some of the phrase stamps for texture and a little more interest around the focal point.  For the little bits of a chevron pattern you see on the background, I "rolled" a background stamp onto the background rather than just stamping flat.

And I'm glad I start on Project Life before the end of the I was only a little behind in getting this done.  Used American Crafts 6 x 12 with 4 x 6 pockets, 8x8, Becky Higgins Style F...just wanted to change it up a little.
Put some of the goodies from my friend, Linda, our lunch out for Chinese New Year, that dragon picture is from the Internet from the celebration in Shanghai.
 The 8 x 8 protector...
I am already reaching less for the Becky Higgins Project Life Clemetine Core Kit.  I'm liking mostly plain cardstock with either stamping, other pattern paper, or embellishments.

And if you scrapped around'll recognize some old Heidi Swapp stamps and an old Bam Pop stamp this time, I was really wanted something a little different...and Vee has inspired me to pull out these old stamps.
And again, I put just about everything in from the's a lot more than 2 pages, but it's worth it, and we've enjoyed looking back already...but I did not have enough for an entire page, and did my own fillers for this side...and you can see it is not perfect...but it doesn't matter.
I'm enjoying it, but admit that I'm wanting to just get it down each hopefully, I will begin to just enjoy the process of it a little more.
