Making Some Cards

I finally tried the "confetti" trend.  I love it on other people's projects, but I'm not crazy about it on my own.  So using one of Lisa's ideas from the Trendspotting class at Studio Calico, but instead of a glassine envelope, I folded over a piece of vellum..stitched the sides, filled with confetti, then finished stitching back up.  Really a quick and fun card to make.

Then I kept going and using up some of the Studio Calico kits, I made these two cards...

We are preparing for Isaac to make landfall...so hopefully will have one more post this week scheduled for tomorrow.  But praying we and everyone affected by Isaac are safe!

  1. So cute, Patricia. Is it showing my age if I say that I now have a song running through my head thanks to that last card?

I love the confetti trend, too, but don't feel confident to use it too much.

I am not much of a sewer :)

  7. Love the cards! I haven't tried the confetti thing yet. I like how you did it with a word. Hope Isaac isn't too bad for you. Looks like it's heading right for us! With Gustav we were out of power for a week. I hope that is not the case this time. At least maybe everything will be back to normal by the time we have our crop. Can't wait!!

  11. I LOVE those cards. Confetti is SO pretty but sort of daunting. But I'm fixated with it a little bit. I remember when I was a little kid I went to someone's house, and in a little bowl on their entryway table was a delicate egg with a tiny hole in it, and inside was tons of vibrantly colored confetti. It took everything I had inside me not to want to crack that egg open and dance in the confetti. I couldn't stop looking at it! I'll never forget that. Your card totally reminded me of that moment- thank you :)
