Lily Bee Blog Hop

Welcome to the Lily Bee blog hop!  You may have seen a couple of our new design team’s projects on the blog already but we thought it’d be fun to showcase the talents of our fabulous design team by doing a blog hop!

Our blog hop continues with this week's theme of Spring / Easter projects! We’re excited to be working with the following designers for the next year! They have created many inspirational projects using our new collections, so make sure you stop by each of their blogs to see their work and leave them some love and then head back over here for a chance to win some Lily Bee Design product of your own!
Patricia Roebuck (you are here)

Lily Bee is giving away a Sweet Shoppe paper pack!
Go to the Lily Bee blog to see how to win!

So excited and thankful to work with Lily Bee and this amazing team!
I used both Pinwheel and Sweet Shoppe for this cute little card.  I love the grey and black accents in the collections, so I added stitching in black and added the black chevron ribbon.
Thank you for stopping by and good luck in the blog hop!  Happy Easter!  Have a great weekend!

Somewhere Over the...

Join us over on the Noel Mignon blog and Facebook group for our Spring Fling Crop!

I love rainbows, so that is the challenge for you that I picked!  Last year for our daughter's birthday, she wanted a rainbow I made lots of rainbow things.  Here's a few:
Party Goody bags
She was afraid of the smoke from blowing out the candles, so I made a fake candle.
And here is what I came up with for the crop.
I had the idea to use the Studio Calico mask in Daffodil Hill and spray rows of each color for a rainbow.  It takes a little longer, because you want to mask off the "other" rows while spraying one row.  I always use a box and scraps of papers to help with this.
Pick out your favorite mists for the rainbow.  I loved this orange, but it was too dark, so I added a few drops to the little mister along with a few white mist drops and some water to make my own soften the color.
I didn't want to waste all that wet mist on the mask, so I stamped with it on the cardstock as well.
The top row is where I misted and masked, and the bottom left is the stamped image.
After this dried, I sent it through the Silhouette and cut out a several different shapes and sizes of arrows.  I wasn't sure how I wanted them to look on the layout, so I went through more of my stencils and used this large sun ray mask by Julie Balzer, then I knew I would have the photo in the center, with the arrows pointing in.
I couldn't help but use this St. Patrick's Day celebration photo of us at the parade since the theme was rainbows.  So I had to add some gold to it as well with the gold polka dot vellum, gold to the number 3 and POW (glittery American Crafts paper) cut with the Silhouette.  Can you see the masked and misted rainbow chevrons under the photo?  I didn't want to waste any of the masked and misted papers, so I used some under the photo.
I was really having fun with this so far and wanted to do something I haven't done in a long time, add a little doodling to each arrow and some of the other masked and inked shapes.  Added some messy stitching
And one more project.  I still had that stamped image from the left over ink.  I couldn't waste it, so I made a card from it.
Both the card and the layout uses bits from the Daffodil kit, but I brought it more "rainbow" elements and colors with my own supplies.
I love how the stamped image looks, and it made a quick and easy card.
So how will you use rainbows in your project?  I'll have an album set up in our Facebook group named "Somewhere Over the *Rainbow* Challenge" for you to add your challenge projects to it!  Can't wait to see what you make!

What's Up with This?

Good Morning!  I want to share my last layout as the guest this month with Love My Tapes.
I used the red and black diagonal tape and the wood grain tape. I experimented more with colors. The red in the tape had some orange in it so I used complimentary  colors.  More details on the Love My Tapes blog.

I am blogging by my phone and hoping my computer comes back with the last several weeks of photos and other info I realized I didn't back up.  I have always been so good at backing up but you never know when your computer will die.  I am lost without my computer. So many things I can't do.
Thanks for stopping by. Wish me luck with my computer.

Hello Springtime - A Lily Bee Sketch and Layout

Today on the Lily Bee blog, I have a sketch challenge.  I have been using the Skitch App to doodle some quick sketches lately, even for myself.  It has helped me get projects done faster and plan a little.  I am joined by the very talented Wendy Sue Anderson and Diana Fisher with their interpretations of the sketch, so head on over to the Lily Bee blog to see and enter the challenge for a chance to win.
My take on the sketch.  I took pictures of some new items for the start of the season.  Those rain boots are part of Emma's Easter surprise.
My favorite technique lately is masking.  Either with ink, mist, or paste...really anyway!  For this layout I used one of the new Crafter's Workshop stencil.  You can pick one here from Paper Issues.  Use code PATRICIA to get 20% off.
I fussy cut the Cartwheel pattern paper and layered the pinwheels on top of each other for the circles.
Added some handstitching and a few drops of mist.
Lily Bee always has the best patterns. Not too big and work so well together.  Hope you get to enter the challenge.  Keep checking and following the Lily Bee blog to enter more challenges.

Project Life, Weeks 7 and 8

Hey, Everyone!  I have Project Life weeks 7 and 8 to share with you today.

Week 7 we were in Disney World!
I decided to keep this week simple, because I will be doing another separate Project Life style album of the entire trip.  While we were there, I used Evernote to write down everything we did that day.  I'm so glad I did, otherwise it would be a blur.  I copied those and printed them out.
I have a few insert pages...we celebrated Chinese New Year and Valentines also this week, so included the "red" envelope and the card Emma got me.
I love how this came out with the photo and the recap of the day.
A few closeups...

I had the space, so I scanned one of the autographs to add a little more fun to it.

And here's week 8...back to ordinary more of the little details of day to day.  I used Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic...can't get enough of that line...a few bits of others, but mostly 5th and Frolic.
Emma loves picking flowers and giving them to I've been drying them and adding them.
Lots of little memories...and I'm including more of "me."  I love how the top right pocket came out, my favorite.  And I love this week, because I included all of us in it as well, even Archie!
A few closeups...

Easter Treats | Lily Bee Pinwheels

Happy Friday, Everyone!  All this week on the Lily Bee blog, the team has been making some gorgeous projects with the new Pinwheel collection.  Today I finish the week off with...Pinwheels.  I love them, and had to make these little treats for Emma and her bests friend for Easter.
You can see how I put these together on the Lily Bee blog today here.
Loving the brand new Lily Bee embellishments with the three new collections collections.  I used one of the brads and badges here from the Pinwheel collection.  Such a beautiful, Spring collection.
Lily Bee is sharing more Spring and Easter projects all next week.

Hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Noel Mignon Layouts and Spring Fling Crop

Julie has a new sketch over on Noel Mignon here.  I knew I wanted to scrap these crazy photo of me taken by my daughter and put on Instagram all on her own!  Some scrap friends told me, I had to scrap this photo with the caption she used, so I did!
I took a screen shot of it to show all the things she typed for the caption, and named it "Eoscblop" the part that were letters from her caption.
This was a quick layout using the Daffodil Hill kit.  The Paper only kit is still available.  I was short on time.  So did this in about an hour so I could get the photo of it while still daylight.  Julie's sketch really helped make it come together fast.
The next layout is up today on the Noel Mignon Blog using the Daffodil Hill collection as well.  This was a "just for fun" layout.  I wanted to play with the mask using Distress Ink and the blending tool.
Fussy cut some strips from that gorgeous new Webster's Pages chevron pattern paper.  Added some splatters, embossing (which didn't turn out great, so I stamped in black on top), and stitched the arrow.  Lots of texture.
Stitched on the little wire house.  To add a little bit of softness to the layout, I added the bow at the bottom.
Come join us over on the Noel Mignon blog and in the Facebook group for our Spring Fling crop.  Lots of challenges and games.  The grand prize is being a guest designer for Noel Mignon!  Hope you can join us!  You don't have to be a kit subscriber to join us.
