Altenew Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

***Update*** - The Winner from My Blog is....

Number 65 - Cyndi Morris

Congratulations, Cyndi!!!  Please email winner@altenew.com by 1/15/2019 with the subject line BAF: Hyacinth Release Blog Hop Winner from Patricia's Blog. Enjoy!!!

I read all of the comments and they all made me smile, thank you so much!!

I am so honored to be joining Altenew and an amazing group of designers in celebrating a new release of another beautiful build-a-flower set!

The first project I did was a scrapbook layout.  In deciding what photo I wanted to use, I remembered for one of our family day (Adoption) celebrations, I bought some fresh hyacinths!  Instead of documenting that memory of our family day, I documented documented my daughter and how so much has changed since this photo.

I created a background on the left side of this 8.5x11 page by first stamping the solid images of hyacinths.  I used Altenew Evening Gray ink to create a shadow for the final layer.  Then using Altenew Frayed Leaf, I masked horizontal stripes from the top to the bottom.

I had so much fun playing with different colors to see all the beautiful combinations you could achieve.  I definitely did a couple of combinations in colors to match my photo using the same inks I listed above, but added Forest Glades and Caribbean Sky as well.  The other combinations I added are Soft Lilac and Lavender Fields.  I detail cut both full images and partial, with just the flowers.  I still included the stamp part of the flowers I detail cut, otherwise there would have been empty spaces.  I attached foam adhesive to the back of these cuts to add the final layer and dimension to my background.

The sentiment I chose went perfectly with my journaling.  I embossed that on Altenew's beautiful woodgrain paper.

The combinations along with inks can create unique looks every time, so I decided to do a black and gray combination on Kraft cardstock using only two of the three images of the stamps.  Completely different look and feel from the layout.

Now onto the fun part, PRIZES!

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog for a chance to win. Three winners will be announced on the Card Blog, and other three winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Blog on 1/9/2019.

As a thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and comment, I will pick one lucky winner to receive a $20 gift certificate. I will announce the winner on this updated blog post on 1/5/2019.
