Altenew Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

It is time for another new Build-A-Flower release from Altenew!  Welcome to the blog hop and hope you love this Sweet Violet as much as I do.  You should have arrived here from the very talented Kelly Gridline.  I have loved all the BAF, but this one might be a favorite of mine!  The stamp set is available by itself or for a 5% discount bundled with inks.  If you don't ever want to miss a new Build-A-Flower release, you can subscribe here.  You will get a specially discounted price from $35.00 to $29.99!

There's a matching die set you can purchase to go with it.  Inside your Sweet Violet stamp set, you will find examples with ink colors suggestions, and on the back is this guide to stamping the layers.

I was inspired by the sentiments in deciding my photos I wanted to document in my pre-made travelers notebook.

Can you see how the image on my daughters shirt and the colors inspired this spread?  I kept the layers of the Sweet Violet light, and made the detailed lines bold to get that 'vin-y' look.  I used Ruby Red, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Warm Sunshine, and Orange Cream.  There's a lot of layers to these sweet things!

For my leaves, I mixed a little darker with lighter for the layers using Dusk, Soft Lilac, Forest Glades, and I believe Dusk again.  I mentioned Sapphire in the video below, but I think I used Sapphire on my single layer leaf images on my background.  These leaves alone are amazing because I could totally see these used for a tropical card or memory.  I wanted a 'vine-y' look on my background, so I used one of the green markers from the Artist Markers Green Fields Set and a very old Perfect Tears ruler.

I wanted to keep with that look and motion with pattern paper from the new Live Your Dream Scrapbook kit.  I did my journaling a little differently by adding machine stitched journaling lines.  Love the effect of dimension achieved by doing this.  And I used my all-time favorite Live Your Dream Clear Stickers...just so awesome to be able to use right over my journaling.

I finished this off with a few more embellishments from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook collection and some Nuvo Dream Drops and Nuvo Jewel Drops.

This may also be a favorite spread right now in my TN.  You can watch my video process of this TN spread below or in HD on YouTube here.
