I am not one to do resolutions. I've always been a goal oriented person, but I'm realizing, in my wiser years LOL, that this is life, make the best of it and of me. I don't think I've shared on my blog about my recent weight loss (once again) in 2017. Paying for a program was something I never did, but I needed a really good jumpstart. It worked wonderfully, but I always knew in the back of my mind how I am with any diet and the tendency to go back to old habits, or what I am learning to be survival mode of deprivation of a diet. This has been a journey I think God has taken me on since I was in my 20s and I am now in my 50s.
So I turned to my Canva Bullet Journal to create some thoughts and motivation, starting with my intro page using the JustNick Studio 'this year' cut file. I added the watercolors and stamping to spruce up the page using Scrapbook.com Mid-Century Floral stamps, Citrus Twist Stamps and Jane Davenport watercolors. I did this title page like this because I hadn't finished my Gratitude journal! I don't like unfinished projects, especially something like this! So here is that finished page to the left of this one. That finishes the Gratitude section. You can see all those posts here from the first three weeks.
I went with different colors on that last Gratitude page, and that set the colors for the 'this year' to the right of it as well as this page with my Word for the year 'Surrender.' Last year it was 'Trust' and although I think that one will be a continuing process, I realized another important part of the trust, is action, which I was going to go with, but then I was doing my daily quiet time, and I really felt like it needed to be surrender. Let go, let God, take the step, the faith, the action. He is my strength. I'm totally weak.
I used JustNick Studio's new Script Alpha 2 to merge the letters to do my title and cut it out using the a bold pattern paper with a simple pattern. For my background, I used the new Funky Mandala as a mask and as a stencil to ink my background. For the speech bubbles I used the Catherine Pooler Calendar & Boxes Stencil with ink and then used a pen to outline each one.
I filled them in with stickers from past stickers from Citrus Twist Kits. To help keep my journaling straight, I used the Catherine Pooler On My List Stencil.
My journaling is lots of scripture. I have so many years of undoing toxic thinking and reacting which is at the root of my eating issues. The more of the truth and encouragement I can get in, the better!
You can see more about how the pages came together as well as the cut files I used on the JustNick Studio blog post here!
Thank you so much for stopping by and especially if you read all of that! Here's to 2020 being healthy in mind, spirit, and body!
