Altenew August 2020 Scrapbook Collection Release Blog Hop

Hello!!  Welcome to the Altenew Blog Hop to celebrate the new August 2020 Scrapbook Collection Release called Enjoy the Ride!!  You should be arriving from the very talented Virginia Lu's blog.  And if you haven't, go back to the Altenew Card Blog for the release details and giveaways!!

First, let me share two projects I created with the kit!  The collection comes with 6 washi tapes that are smaller scales of the 16 12x12 paper pack, two sets of ephemera, chipboard, and alpha chipboards.  If you are familiar with Altenew's first kit, the paper felt a little slick, this collection is more matte, and just amazing!!  80 lb cardstock as well.

Ok, so here is the first project focusing on the lovely washi tapes!

On the right side of my traveler's notebook, I lined four of the washi tapes along the length, then added black machine stitching.  I used the back of the Blustery pattern paper, the pale blue, as a mat for the chipboard bicycle in the middle, then trimmed florals from the Bouquet Builder Ephemera as well as another chipboard piece to break up the background just a bit.

I used the same Blustery pattern paper, but the side that is a larger scale of the washi tape I used to mat my photo on the left.  To continue the look, I added machine black stitching.  For my journaling, I used the Journal Card Builder from the Altenew Shop to type my journaling before adhering anything.

I used Blooming as well as Bouquet Builder Ephemera and the chipboard alphas to finish the page.  LOVE the color, size, and font of the alphas!

All of these washi tapes you see, have the matching pattern paper!  Just a smaller scale than the paper.  So useable to mix up!

My next project again uses lots of the washi tape, I couldn't resist, it is just so inspiring!  But I also did a lot of fussy cutting of the white flowers on the 6x8 layout on the left.

This entire 6x8 layout is really just the photo itself.  I typed my journaling on my typewriter, then added the washi, the fussy cut flowers, chipboard, and ephemera.  This collection was made for my daughter's ballet recital!

I wanted to keep with the same patterns of the washi tape I used as well as the colors, so I trimmed the matching pattern papers to fit my 2x2 pockets on the right.  Then added either chipboard, ephemera or even more washi tape to finish.

Similar to the first project, trimming the ephemera not only gets more use out of them, but creates movement with them extended to the edge of the page.

I hope you are in love with this new collection as much as I am.  I was so inspired!  And now for some giveaways!

  33. I always love your work....so fun and classy. Love how you used all the washi tapes on the right page, and that bicycle rocks. Doesn't the tape jam up your sewing needle? I just ordered this collection and now can't wait to get it, so I can play too. Thanks for your inspiration.
